Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 400°F.

3
Make sure the broccoli florets are roughly 1 inch wide, and arrange them in an even layer on the baking sheet.
4
Drizzle the broccoli with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
5
Use a rubber spatula to toss the broccoli until it is evenly coated in the oil.
6
Roast on middle rack of oven, stirring halfway through cook time, until the broccoli is crisp-tender and slightly charred, 22-25 minutes.

8
Serve immediately.

So simple and easy! It was a great side for pasta and chicken. Will definitely be making this more often.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Your Florets Thoroughly 💧Pat broccoli completely dry with paper towels after washing to ensure crispy edges and proper browning instead of steaming during roasting.
- Don't Overcrowd the Pan 🍳Arrange florets in a single layer with space between each piece so hot air circulates evenly, creating caramelized exteriors and tender interiors.
- Oil Generously and Evenly 🫒Toss broccoli with extra-virgin olive oil until all florets are well-coated; this prevents drying and promotes that prized golden-brown caramelization.
- Season in Layers 🧂Add salt and pepper before roasting and again immediately after removal from the oven for better flavor distribution and fresher-tasting seasoning.
- Roast at High Temperature 🔥Use 425-450°F for 15-20 minutes to achieve caramelized, crispy edges while maintaining a tender stem—low heat will only steam the broccoli.
